Hi, there. Welcome to my new blog! I’m Mimi. Well, okay, my real name is Carol. But “Mimi” is the name given to me by my adorable little grandsons, and it has become my favorite name.
I hope to share with you my enjoyment of creating crafts and jewelry, decorating my home, refining my yard and garden, and finding new experiences that hold meaning for me. As a baby boomer, I draw on years of professional and personal experience to bring my unique mix of style and tradition to life.
Recently retired from my career as a music educator and college professor, I am delighted to have plenty of time to spend at home! After an extensive career as a middle and high school choral director and then a college professor, it is a great luxury to have that precious, extra time for pursuing my interests in crafts, DIY projects, home decor, and writing. You will often find me working in the yard, changing up the decor in my home, creating beaded jewelry pieces, or doing just about anything that involves making a big mess.
My husband Mr. B. and I enjoy living in Coastal Georgia, and he is a very handy fellow. You can often find him building something or completing a DIY project of his own in the house or garden. Mr. B. is my wonderful source for getting major projects done.
In addition to blogging, I am a part-time church musician: organist and choir director for an Episcopal church. It’s a great little “retirement” job that requires me to keep up my musical skills. I also enjoy spending some time each day taking exercise classes at our local YMCA, jogging, or just taking long walks.
Thanks for clicking on my new blog! I hope you will stick around and come back frequently as I share my ongoing efforts to Enjoy Life Creatively!
